Fetus Fighter Rules
This is a basic overview of the rules of the game. Still a bit roughed out and several places need some more detailed explaining. This will come in the future once more playtests (or an actual playtest) come to pass. If you want try it out yourself and post your experiences on the forum.
Card Traits These are various tags that will go onto cards. Every card will have at least one trait (being the limit # listed below).
- One Shot Once this card is used it is removed from the game.
- Limit # - Tells you how many copies of a card you can have in your deck.
- Group Name Can only be used with the group that is named on the card.
- Spell The card is a spell. Simply means that cards that target spell affect these cards.
Card Types Each deck has certain types of cards in it. The various ones are listed below.

Combat Turn order
- 1 Place card. Players place a Fight Card face down behind their fetus.
- 2 Show card. Players reveal their face down card.
- 3 Determine damage or effects.
- 4 If both Fetus cards are still in play return to the Place card step.
Fetus Stats

- Resist How much damage they can ignore
- Body How much damage they can take
Turn Order.
The players do all things at the same time unless otherwise stated.
- 1. Draw Resources hand to full.
Each player fills their resources hand up to their maximum size. Normally that maximum is five cards but this may be affected during game play.
- 2. Produce Resource Point.
Each player chooses which type of Resource Points they want their Group Card to produce this turn and gain the number of points equal to their rating listed on the card. Any other cards in play that provide Resource Points produce them during this step.
- 3. Play Resource Cards.
You now play the cards from your Resource Hand. You must pay the required amount of Resource Points that is listed on the card. Cards are played at the same time. To do this each of the players places a card face down in front of them. Once all players have done this each of them turns their cards over at the same time and pays for their costs and resolves any affects produced at this time. Any players can opt not to play a card at all and the rest continue to play cards without them. Once no players wish to play any more cards the play goes to the next turn.
- 4. Challenge
At this point any player who wishes to fight places their Resource hand face down. The players who wish to fight then move onto the combat step. All other players may take no actions during the combat step and wait until the End Turn step comes around.
- 5. Combat
Each player draws five cards from their Fight Deck. They then proceed to the Combat Step Chart.
- 6. End Turn
All players may heal one point of damage on each of their Fetus cards. They then pick their Resource Hand back up if they were in Combat. Then they may also discard one card.
Combat Step Chart.
- 1. Draw Fight Hand.
Draw cards up to your maximum from your Fight Deck. Normally the max size is five but this may change due to card affects during game play. No Resource Cards may be played during any Combat Step phase.
- 2. Place card.
Each player then selects one card and places it face down in front of their fetus. You may also opt not to play a card at all and do a Normal Attack, this attack inflicts regular damage to the opponent. In a combat containing multiple fighters the player also states which opponent they are going against. Once all players have done so proceed to the next step.
- 3. Show card.
Each of the players reveals their cards simultaneously.
- 4. Determine damage or effects.
Apply the damage to the targets of the attacks. Be sure to deduct the Resist Stat of the fetus from the Attack total. Also resolve any other affects from cards that were not attacks.
- 5. Continue.
If there is more than one Fetus in play return to the Step 2 of the Combat Step Chart and begin again. When there is only one Fetus remaining combat ends and that player receives a Victory Point. Proceed to the End Turn step of the Turn Order.
